O God of pans and dish-pan hands,
Of laundry on the line,
O Lord of drawers and dirty floors,
O King of home design;
O Prince of dust, and swept-up crust,
Of soothing tears and pain,
Let not the grind rob peace of mind,
Or interrupt Your reign.
O Potentate of fork and plate,
O Lover of good deeds,
O Liege of treats and folded sheets,
Of vegetables and weeds;
O Governor of every chore,
Dear Maker of my home,
May every task, of Thee I ask,
A Living Prayer become.
